Vision
The commercial success of the 3D cinema with many thousand 3D screens in US drives the demand for 3D content and 3D television sets. Beside the stereoscopic (glasses based) 3D,
auto-stereoscopic (glasses free) presentations are requested more and more.
Such glasses free presentations are necessary in street advertisement, on fairs and
exhibitions – or in the future 3D cinema.
Even it may seem satisfying to watch 3D with glasses by today, glasses are not a desired
add-on. Rather than being an advantage, apparently it is a limitation factor and disadvantage
in viewing comfort.
The final aim of the 3D evolution in the next years is a fully realistic representation; with definitely no spectacles involved. Only with an auto-stereoscopic representation, an audience can enjoy a fully realistic 3D impression without the need of any viewing aids.
